Welcome to the USS Achilles
The year is 2389. Following the Dominion War the Federation is now returning to normal, with Star Fleet returning to the roles of exploration and discovery. However the lessons of the past have not gone unlearned. The new ships are better equipped scientifically, defensively, and offensively than the ships of the past. To that end the Prometheus Class of Starship was conceived and created. The USS Achilles is the next ship of the line of Prometheus Class Heavy Cruiser.
In Earth's ancient past Achilles was known as the greatest warrior known to man. So great was his skill on the battlefield that his exploits became the stories of legend. Even now, while his bones are mere dust his name still lives on. Like her namesake the USS Achilles is a power warrior…a battleship of unique skills. Though not the largest ship in the Federation fleet the USS Achilles is definitely one of the most powerful; capable of defending herself from multiple attackers with ease. The Achilles can also separate into three separate warp capable vessels. Their combined strength is more than a match for anything in the Romulan or Klingon fleets.

During the Kzinti War, the USS Achilles and its crew faced overwhelming odds and through skill, determination, and fortitude they triumphed...but not without paying a high price.
After the long War and repeated combat, the Achilles has been given a reprieve from combat while the ship under goes repairs at Starbase 80. The crew has been granted shore leave, either on the station or the planet below.
